For The Love of Jasmine

I've discovered in the last few years how much I love jasmine. Is there a more heavenly smell? For Christmas, my little brother outdid himself and got me this jasmine scrub from my favorite NYC soap shop.

The funny thing is that he didn't know that jasmine was a favorite of mine. He knew that I loved Sabon and so went in and picked out the scent he liked the best. Lucky for me, Delicate Jasmine spoke to him!

I also recently began using this cleansing oil and one of the reasons I love it is because of the jasmine oil in it.

Apparently, in addition to its divine smell, jasmine essential oil is a very good disinfectant and evens out skin tone. I'm loving jasmine more by the second.

When I discovered jasmine tea, I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy it tasted. It's not bitter, like some herbal teas, and of course it has the most gorgeous aroma. I really like Harney and Sons loose Jasmine Floral Tea.

And these Jasmine Green Tea bags are yummy too. I always prefer loose tea but I found these on sale at TJMaxx and they're easy to use and very flavorful.

Do you, like me, love the smell/taste/health benefits of jasmine? Do you have any favorite jasmine products? Which of these would you love to try?

  1. I'm so happy that you are joining in on the letter challenge! =)

I absolutely love the smell of anything Jasmine!!! It's such a fresh and clean smell. And this is too funny because my mom just gave me a whole Sabon gift set for Christmas with the same scrub, just in a different scent! What a nice and fun brother you have, great gift he gave you.

    Have a great day!

  2. That is too funny! Don't you love that scrub? My hands feel like silk after using it. And if you visit one of the stores they have a huge sink that you can wash your hands in and you can try all the different scents. I used to go in after a day of walking around the city--amazing!!

  6. Yes they have some really original scents I think, all so beautiful and not overwhelmingly sweet or earthy. So feminine!

  7. Ahhhhh....Jasmine! So beautiful! That's funny that your brother liked it, because my husband does too...and typically I don't think males like "floral" smells! Must be something about it that draws them :-). I'm certainly not complaining! That scrub sounds just divine!

  8. Have your brother tell you about the time we were biking home from a concert or play late at night this last summer, and came upon a night-blooming jasmine shrub right next to the Smithsonian -- large white flowers and KNOCK you over scent. In the sensory deprivation of the dark it was doubly potent!

  9. Oh that sounds heavenly! I'll ask him about it. Maybe my green-thumb-wielding father will plant me my very own jasmine shrub one day?! I promise to keep it watered.

  10. I absolutely love jasmine! My grandparents lived down in North County San Diego for most of my childhood and they had gigantic jasmine hedges all along their yard. The scent is one that instantly takes me back to some of my favorite childhood memories at their house.

The house I rented for the last couple years of college also had a jasmine hedge. I loved that the flowers always began to bloom in May, the most intense month of the semester. They seemed to serve as a reminder that life would actually go on even if I felt like finals were going to be the death of me. ;)

  11. I love that you have such positive associations with jasmine! That's lovely. I always find the scent to be so relaxing and refreshing. I wonder what kind of weather is required for jasmine to thrive?

  12. Hm, I'm not sure! That would be a fun thing to research. (I am so lacking in knowledge about plants having grown up in the desert!)

I am also very curious about your oil cleansing regime. It sounds so healthy! I often use coconut oil as moisturizer but I've never really learned the health benefits of using oils regularly.

  13. Yes, our mall here has a store of theirs! Too fun! I forgot to ask, how long have you been using the Bobbie Brown cleansing oil and does it really make your skin feel fresh and clean? I LOVE Bobbie Brown but have never tried this product.

  14. Hi Maggie, I've only been using it for about 2 weeks. It definitely feels luxurious and dissolves all of my makeup and cleans my skin. My skin isn't perfect yet, but I think it's just getting used to the cleansing and moisturizing with oil. Apparently there's a "balancing" phase, so I'm hopeful it will be great in another few weeks! Though I will say that the areas on my face that aren't having little breakouts are soft and glowing! I'll keep you posted, it's definitely a great product to try.
